ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES
Do you know about Accessibility Services at your university?
All universities provide support for those students needing accommodations related to ensuring everyone has equitable access to a university education. Accessibility Services (different universities may use a different name) provide physical support (e.g., special equipment or software), logistical support (e.g., more time for writing exams or scribes), and help communicating these accommodations to your professors.
In the Diversities of Resilience Project, 5% of the respondents from U Winnipeg and 8% from the full sample (MSVU, UOIT, & U Winnipeg) indicated that Accessibility Services contributed to their successful completion of courses or achievement of their educational goal.
